Farmer survey highlights need for agronomic data management services
May 8, 2017
AgProfessional's editor-in-chief speaks with Krista MacLean, project manager with Stratus Ag Research, about findings from a Field Data Management study conducted in 2016. The study, which surveyed 839 U.S. farmers and 709 Canadian farmers, showed a gap between data collection in on-farm practices, and further analysis of that data to improve processes. While 84% of U.S. farmers have equipment that captures data, only 42% are taking that further by analyzing it with field data management software.
